While we’re talking about Airhead America

Mary Katherine Ham has an excellent review of “progressive” (which I think stands for ‘progressing toward idiocy’) radio.  It’s a hilarious piece that exposes the naivete and immature thinking of the far left (in their own words, no less).

Enjoy it here: MKH – A week with the Left

Must’ve been the oyster stew they had for dinner

Here’s a tip.  If your spouse isn’t “putting out” calling the cops on him is not an effective arousal technique.

Ah, this should certainly put him in the mood…

FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Police in the German city of Aachen received an unusual call for help late Wednesday when a woman telephoned to complain her husband was not fulfilling his sexual obligations.

After the couple had been sleeping in separate beds for several months without intimate contact, the 44-year-old woman woke the husband, 45, in the middle of the night and demanded he satisfy her needs, police spokesman Paul Kemen said Thursday.

When her advances were refused, a row broke out and she called the police and asked them to intervene, he added.

“The police officials did not feel able to resolve the dispute, let alone issue any kind of official order,” Kemen said.

“And because no crime or infringement could be identified, all they could do was file a report in case intervention might be required at a later date,” he added.

Nah nah nah nah, Hey hey hey, Goodbye….

Liberal propaganda lovers in New York will be forced to adjust their antennas if they want to hear Air America.  The far-left’s scandal ridden flagship radio station couldn’t muster enough cash to pay for WLIB.  With such intellectual heavyweights as Jerry Springer and Al Franken,  New Yorkers may be left bewildered by the move from 1190 AM to the much weaker (but apparently less expensive) 1600 spot on the dial.  If only sardonic, ill-informed repartee and trailer park incest could turn more of a profit… {sarcastic expression accompanied by a huge eye roll}

LEFTY NET OFF WLIB

August 3, 2006
RADIO

THE liberal Air America radio network is going to be harder to hear in New York.

Next month, it is switching stations – to a weaker AM station, WWRL (1600 AM).

Al Franken and his lefty colleagues are leaving WLIB (1190 AM) apparently because they couldn’t come up with enough cash for the owners, former Manhattan Borough President Percy Sutton and his son, Pierre.

Starting Sept. 1, Air America will be on WWRL, at the top of the dial where AM signals are weakest – especially at night, when greater FCC restrictions apply.

As The Post reported last March, the ratings-challenged liberal network failed to renew its two-year lease with the Suttons.

Relations between the Suttons and the network’s execs were rocky from the start and only got worse after the network’s shaky finances became known and a scandal broke out involving loans to Air America from a Bronx charity.

WLIB’s future after Sept. 1 is not known, although radio industry heavyweight Randy Michaels – the builder of 1,200-station Clear Channel – has expressed interest in leasing the station as a base for a new talk-radio network.

Michaels declined comment yesterday and the Suttons didn’t return calls.

The Fudge Report

Who says the Democrats don’t have a sense of humor?  According to Drudge the Democratic Senatorial Committee has launched a website called the Fudge Report that, by their own description, attempts to expose the “lengths the GOP will go to to ‘fudge’ the truth”.  Does anyone see the irony here?  These Dems are creating a knockoff media site to spin anti-GOP stories and they think the GOP is fudging?

How exactly is capitalizing on Matt Drudge’s success and telling versions of the news that even the liberal MSM doesn’t find fit to print constitute exposing the truth?

There’s a load of something dark brown piling up over at The Fudge Report but it doesn’t smell like chocolatey goodness, if you know what I mean.  PU!

You’ll notice the PC disclaimer (shown below) at the bottom of Fudge designed to shield politicians and candidates from responsibility for this piece of e-toilet paper.  The tactic of anonymous attacks filtered out to liberal blogs and spread through the WWW without accountability is not new – expect to see quotes from Fudge coming soon to liberal blogs near you.

The pathetic state of American politics

There is local story that illustrates just how sad and corrupt our political system has become.

DECKER1.NE.080106.TEL

Michael Decker took $50,000 from the Democrats to change parties so that the Dems could maintain power in the state house.  A Republican was so corrupt that he took cash and a job offer (for his son) to change parties and throw support to the Dem house leader and A Democrat House leader met with Decker to make the deal offer and then another unnamed Dem lawmaker deliverd the money ($38,000 in checks and $12,000 in cash).  Now aren’t you dying to know whose names are on those checks?  And while there is a real argument to be made here that the worse offense was committed by the Dem house members since their actions involved multiple participants, among whom were several elected officials, giving the appearance of institutional corruption,  Decker deserves the public disgrace of any Benedict Arnold.  Not to the party he sold out – but to the people who voted him into office in good faith.

Read the story in the Raleigh rag.

To everyone involved… (in my best Gomer Pyle voice) Shame! Shame! Shame!

Vernon Robinson – a Nightmare for American Liberals

See this guy.  He is fast becoming public enemy number one for the pseudo communist American Left.  He stands for family values, colorblind laws, a tough border and security policy and is a straight shooter who is everything the left fears… An articulate African American USAF vet who’s a social and fiscal conservative.  He’s the son of a nurse and a Tuskegee Airman, an Eagle Scout who graduated from the Air Force Academy with a degree in Middle Eastern Affairs and then went on to get his MBA.  Married to the same woman for 23 years with three children (2 adopted after their mother died of cancer).  How the left must absolutely hate (spelled F-E-A-R) this guy. The people for the American Way are desperately trying to paint this guy as a bigoted hate monger but if you read through their articles about him, most of the quotes they use to support their condemnation are not verifiable.  In one case, they refer to a news article in which his opponent is quoting an unnamed ambiguous source.  Basically, to substantiate their claims they link to a report where his opponent says ‘they said this about him’… Uh-huh (eyes rolling) just where are those accuracy in media folks when you need them?

Check out Robinson’s tv spot here.  And see the comparison to his opponent here. Whether or not you agree with him, this guy is tapping into the frustrations of Americans who are seeing the constant erosion of traditional values.  Check out his radio ads here

My only advice for Vernon is that he should have closed with the Andy Griffith theme instead of Leave it to Beaver- I mean, it is North Carolina, after all… ;-)

Quick Updates

Just a reminder that today is the 37th anniversary of Mary Jo Kopechne’s death.

An update on that wacky group of pedophiles trying to gain acceptance as a political party in the Netherlands,  a judge legitimzed them and they are now on record as an official part of the political spectrum in Europe. (July 17 Washington Post)

Also, Niki, a soccer mom reader, has posted a comment worth reading about Roger Waters (founder of Pink Floyd) who has by her account joined Natalie Maines, Babs and others who are using their celebrity and your ticket purchase as license for politicking on stage.  (Ya’ll know how I hate celebrity know-it-alls… ;-)

As for what’s happening in Israel…  I’m withholding comment for, let’s say, a week…Cate ;-)

"Breeder" blogging live from within the kill zone

I’ve been quite busy the past 6 weeks with our move and the transition to civilian life but an article in the Globe forced my fingers to the keyboard. (I’ll get to that in a minute.)  For those who are interested, the L-T-C got a J-O-B and we are pretty much settled in to the new house.  We are slowly getting to know the neighbors and the community.  It’s much easier to make friends on an army post when you start with so much in common already and you share a lawn ;-)   but we are finding our way.  I get teary eyed every time I see a soldier – a condition that shows no sign of letting up any time soon.  All in all, the transition has been much easier than I thought,  all of our worries and fears were proven unfounded and with most of the big changes behind us, I can honestly say that we’ve been richly blessed every step of the way.

Back to the headlines…

Police in Provincetown, Mass logged numerous complaints over the holiday weekend of some gay people showing their true colors.  Some of them thought it was funny to ‘insult’ their straight neighbors by calling them “breeders”.  Another example of the “we want tolerance but only for ourselves” mentality.

First of all, “breeder” isn’t an insult, it’s a badge of honor.  And you’re damn lucky someone chose to breed or you wouldn’t exist.

These complaints don’t represent isolated events that occurred over the nation’s birthday, other incidents are on record of gays publicly confronting citizens who signed petitions in support of traditional marriage.  Earlier this year, I published a post about knowthyneighbor, the website that ‘outs’ people who support pro-traditional marriage legislation in an attempt to bully them into tolerating homosexuality.  Guess what!  One of the complaints addressed in the Globe article describes a the public confrontation of a petition signer by an offended gay man.  He saw her name on the website’s list and when he happened into her at a grocery store he called her a bigot.  Ordinarily, people don’t just accost one another and start name calling but that is the hate bred by the blatantly hate-promoting tactics of knowthyneighbor.  They don’t want to foster civil discourse.  They want to focus and concentrate the anger and frustrations of Massachusetts gays at people who stand up for family values in order to intimidate them into quiet submission.  Sounds tolerant, right?

Of the latter encounter, the homosexual juggernaut of tolerance and understanding, Rick Hines, is completely dismissive.

“I knew she signed the petition and I ran into her, and I gave her a piece of my mind,” said Hines.

Hines added: “After being pushed and prodded your whole life for being gay, you run into someone you know sees you as a second-class citizen and it’s human to respond. . . . I regret that it happened that way.”

Hines shows no real remorse for his behavior.  Apparently, he has been on the receiving end of intolerance enough to deserve to heap it on someone else.  His past victimizations are no excuse for his present behavior.  And not condoning gay-marriage or even homosexuality is not the same as seeing someone as a second-class citizen.  As a breeder, I’ve learned that there is a wide gap between condemning a person and condemning a behavior.  If Mr. Hines were a breeder, he’d get that.  When you can make a list of the civil rights that are violated by the government’s refusal to sanction your sexual relationships, give me a call.

Now, you know, that if Rick Hines were ordering a mocha latte and someone walked up and called him a “pillow biter” there’d be a case pending and the ACLU would be arguing it for him.  But never you mind that other petition signers have had manure spread on their lawns and that their names have been printed on fliers and stuck under windshield wipers all over town.  That’s all in the name of promoting public discourse and fostering tolerance.

Another forwarded funny: Zarqawi at the Pearly Gates

Abu al-Zarqawi died.
George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, “How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!”
Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted, “You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!”
James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said, “This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!”
Thomas Jefferson was next, beat al-Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled “It was Evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence.”

The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist leader.

As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared. Al-Zarqawi wept and said, “This is not what you promised me.”

The Angel replied, “I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven…. What did you think I said?”

Just what exactly is "government endorsement of religion"?

The Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and the ACLU are filing suit again.  This time, the case involves a painting that has been hanging in Bridgeport High School (WVa) for 30 years.  It is called “The Head of Christ“.

photos

Using the tried (or rather tired) argument that the mere presence of a religious symbol implies an endorsement of an ‘official’ religion, the ACLU and the Americans United are determined to see the painting removed.

My thoughts on the matter:

If a picture of Jesus in the hallway is endorsement of Christianity, then are condoms in the nurse’s office endorsement of teenage sex?

If a picture of Jesus in the hallway is endorsement of Christianity, then is the meatloaf surprise served in the cafeteria an endorsement of anti-vegetarianism?  Where is PETA on this one?

If a picture of Jesus in the hallway is endorsement of Christianity, then would hanging the school superintendent’s picture in the main office be equally offensive?  A picture of the president?  Aren’t thos endorsements?

If a picture of Jesus in the hallway is endorsement of Christianity, then is encouraging 5 year old kindergartners to act out scenarios between AIDS patients and their doctors an endorsement of homosexuality?  IV drug abuse?  Promiscuity?

If a picture of Jesus in the hallway is endorsement of Christianity, then is a picture of Lincoln an endorsement of the GOP or a picture of FDR an endorsement of the welfare state?

Many people approach sexuality, vegetarianism and politics with religious zeal and the argument could easily be made that for many these ideologies have assumed godlike proportions.  There is also room for the argument that some proponents of these ideologies are far more organized than most religions.  If anything, Christianity is a ‘dis’organized religion with sects attacking each other with just as much fervor as they argue for their own cause.  Hardly the horrifying grand puppeteer that it’s painted by certain anti-Christian groups.

True, the Constitution does not offer protection from the non-religious beliefs of others.  This is why we can be beat over the head with any agenda that doesn’t mention God.  Schools can endorse premarital sexual activity by teenagers.  They can teach our children that President Bush’s tenure parallels the reign of the Third Reich and that abortion was a step forward for women’s rights rather than a pathetically irresponsible act.

Considering the condition of education in America, who cares if they take down a picture of Christ?  It’s hanging on a whited sepulchre anyway.
